Besides the Xperia Ion, Sony has also announced three new Xperia series smartphones at CES 2012, called the Sony Xperia S, the Xperia Acro HD and the Xperia NX. Two out of these three smartphones; Xperia Acro HD and Xperia NX are especially made for Japanese market. The Sony Xperia Acro HD will bring all popular Japan-specific features including infrared port, mobile TV, mobile wallet, etc. But actually the Sony Xperia NX is a Japanese version of Xperia S that was formerly known as the Nozomi. Well here we will discuss about the Sony Xperia S, which is claimed as the first Sony smartphone.
The Sony Xperia S will be releasing on Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) platform, but it will be upgraded to Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) by the second quarter 2012. The Xperia S is also PlayStation certified that means good news for hard gamers and you can also access to the PlayStation Store along with Sony’s Music Unlimited, and Video Unlimited. But this high-end smartphone lacks LTE capability and probably compatible with only microSIM cards.
The Sony Xperia S will be available in black and white color flavors. Reportedly, this smartphone will be arriving UK in March via Three UK and O2. While Orange will be the third UK-based carrier to confirm plans to sell this newly announced smartphone after Three UK and O2. It’s almost sure that T-Mobile will also be bringing the Xperia S, because it’s part of the same company as Orange UK. Well a white version of this smartphone is said to be a Phones4U exclusive on the isles. But this is not the time for Vodafone UK, as we’re getting all negative possibilities regarding this smartphone release. Well don’t worry Xperia S will be arriving to consumers globally from the first quarter of 2012. Are you interested for detail specifications of this smartphone?
