As you all know, LAVA is going to release a new Intel Medfield based Android smartphone called the Lava XOLO X900, which was originally unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress in February. Previously it was said that the smartphone will be released in Q2 of 2012 but now it has confirmed that this Intel based smartphone will be exactly launched on April 19. The device is claimed as the India’s first Intel based Android smartphone. The Intel Medfield chipset is the company’s reference design for its mobile platform. The smartphone is exactly running on the Google’s Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and powered by an Intel Medfield processor clocked at 1.6GHz with Intel Hyper-Threading technology.
It brings a large 4.03-inch touchscreen display that paired with a dedicated GPU clocked at 400MHz, which can offer screen resolution of 1024 ×600 pixels. It packs an 8.0 megapixel rear facing camera that claims to take 10 snaps within a second in full resolution with burst mode setting. In addition, it also has a 3 megapixels front facing camera which allows you to make video callings. This new smartphone also capable of full HD 1080p video playback, paired with a powerful 1460mAh battery.
As per its connectivity options, this new Intel based Android smartphone comes equipped with Bluetooth technology, WiFi , HDMI, 3G HSPA+ support with Intel XMM 6260 Platform, micro SIM slot, microUSB port, and so on. Even more it also features NFC capability, GPS navigation, and Google maps.
This Intel based Android powered smartphone from LAVA is expected to be priced at around Rs 25,000/-. The handset will also be released through Orange in Europe under a different brand, which is currently codenamed as Santa Clara that being manufactured by Gigabyte.
