Android Developers Report for April – Gingerbread again the King

Android developers have recently updated their version distribution charts for April 2012. Like previous report, Gingerbread is again ruling the chart with maximum share. Bur finally the growth of Gingerbread started decreasing in April, while the current latest Android platform “Ice Cream Sandwich” has doubled its market share. If we’ll see, Froyo was on top for a long time and now Gingerbread isn’t allowing anyone to overtake it. But it seems quite impossible for the Ice Cream Sandwich to go top before the release of Android v5.0 Jelly Bean. As you know these below pie chart and table are based on the number of Android devices has accessed Google Play within a 14-day period ending on 1st May, 2012.

Android 4.0.3 15 4.4%

As previous the Gingerbread is also ruling the table this time with a maximum share about 64%, but it nice to see the Ice Cream Sandwich which gets a drastic increment. Fortunately the Android 1.5 Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut, Android 2.1 Éclair, and Android 2.2 Froyo are losing their shares. But Honeycomb is not impressive, why you would have all known. It’s all because of the rapid updates of Android platforms.
