Do you know Baidu? It’s the great Chinese search engine or you can say it’s the Google of China. So the Chinese search engine giant has decided to introduce their own smartphone. Baidu and China Unicom are going to bring a budget friendly Baidu Cloud Smart Terminal platform based smartphone called the Changhong H5018. For your kind information, it’ll be the first mobile device to run on Baidu’s Cloud Smart terminal platform. It has square type design having enough thickness of just 10.3mm and weighs only 110 grams. If you be aware of Baidu, then the upcoming smartphone will integrate the core technologies of Baidu Cloud Computing including its numerous Cloud-based applications, Personal Cloud Storage service, multi-terminal, as well as multi-application software capabilities.
As it’s a Baidu powered smartphone, so it’ll have specialized Baidu applications along with customized location-based services such as; traditional search with voice recognition search and handwriting input which allow you to simply speak to search. The smartphone also comes equipped with all other Baidu apps like Baidu Music, Baidu Map, Baidu Mobile IME (input method editor) and other mainstream applications. In addition it also comes packed with 100GB of free storage on Baidu Netdrive.
Let’s go to the phone’s specs, the Baidu smartphone will have a uni-body design that brings a 3.5-inch touchscreen display which offers 320 × 480 pixels resolution. It’s powered by a 650 MHz processor and as you know, runs on Baidu OS. It packs a usual 3 megapixels camera and you’ll also have a 3.5mm audio Jack to listen music with an external speaker, even more it features FM radio as well. It boasts a 1400mAh battery and hopefully offers a better battery backup. You can expand your phone memory as high as up to 32GB through a micro SD card. As per connectivity options, the Baidu smartphone will have 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS navigation, etc.
China Unicom will offer the smartphone at a price less than 1000 Chinese Yuan (i.e. around $158 or £99) with a built in Foxconn. The Changhong H5018 would be available shortly at any designated channels in China including China Unicom.
