HTC Desire V & Desire VC headed to Asia with Dual SIM + ICS

Even though HTC confirmed earlier that they don’t have plans to release as many smartphones as last year. But certainly, the company seems in a flow and they have already announced a fair number of smartphone in this fall as well. After the huge success of HTC One series, the company doesn’t like to stop at all, so they went for few low- to mid-range Desire family smartphones and they debuted with the HTC Desire C, which is currently available in the UK. Again they are ready to release two more Desire family smartphone in Asia, called the HTC Desire V and Desire VC.

The HTC Desire V is the company’s first dual-SIM phone, while the Desire VC is a dedicated dual-SIM model for Chinese market. It for sure, both the smartphones are going to available in Asia but we can say the Desire V might look for other regions too. The main selling point of these devices is the dual-SIM support what a typical Asian wants. Moreover, it also runs on the Google’s latest Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform with HTC Sense 4.0 UI.

As they are region dedicated versions, so all specifications are quite similar with each other except network support. The Desire V works on quad-band GSM/EDGE + dual-band HSPA on its primary SIM slot, while its secondary slot supports for tri-band GSM network. But the Desire VC is a CDMA/EVDO handset having a SIM card slot for tri-band GSM network.

Furthermore the smartphone has a bigger screen of 4.0-inch WVGA capacitive display paired with an Adreno 200 graphics processing units. It’s powered by the 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A Cortex-A5 processors and comes built with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, as well as support memory expandable up to 32GB through microSD card slots. In addition, they have 5-megapixel main cameras with LED flash and VGA video recording. As per connectivity options, the smartphones are come equipped with 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, micro-USB, GPS / AGPS, etc. They also feature FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, and obviously Beats Audio enhancements.

It’s said that, the HTC Desire V will release in Asia sometime next month for 345 (€275) and will hit other regions as well soon after. But the Desire VC seems only targeted to the Chinese market around the same releasing period for $318 (€253).
