South Korean smartphone manufacturer seems to launch a brand new Galaxy lineup Android-powered smartphone called the Galaxy Premier or known as Samsung GT-i9260. We’ve got almost all leaked information regarding the smartphone and a technology blog “MobileGeeks” has also published a seep out picture of the upcoming phone (see below). According to the image, the handset will have the pebble-esque design which is introduced in the flagship Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II then the recently released Galaxy S III Mini also adopted the same design.
The upcoming Galaxy smartphone will bring a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. It has 1280 x 720 pixels resolution with ~316 ppi pixel density. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS with TouchWiz UI and features Accelerometer, proximity, compass. The smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A-9 processor and has a SGX544 graphics unit. The handset comes built with 8/16 GB of internal storage plus has a 1 GB of RAM and its memory can expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone will pack an 8MP primary camera that can capture images at 3264 x 2448 pixels and features autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, etc. Additionally the handset will have a 2MP front facing camera for video calls. Other features of the phone are; TBD Radio, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Image/video editor. SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM, RSS, HTML5 browser, Predictive text input (Swype), etc. The handset also comes preloaded with interesting apps such as; Social networking services, Instant messaging, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, etc.
The phone supports 3G that delivers HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n plus Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot. It also has DLNA support, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP & EDR, NFC facility, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB v2.0, GPS with A-GPS support, etc.
This upcoming Galaxy smartphone will probably introduce in Germany first before the end of 2012 and then broaden to other European countries shortly. The smartphone would hit the market at an expected price of Euro 480 (approximately).
